02 — story

why a terminal

quiet checkout, loud mate.

A checkout that respects the time it takes to boil water. An ssh shop happens to do that.

Six bags. Family farms. Brew it well, drink slow, pass left.

03 — how

three commands, one round

i.

connect

$ ssh mate-terminal.shop

any terminal will do.

ii.

browse + cart

$ j/k to move, + to add

1·2·3·4 switch between products, cart, payment, account.

iii.

checkout

$ tab 3 → enter

shipping form, then mate arrives within the week.

04 — brew

how to brew

six instructions, none of them hard.

one fill the gourd two-thirds with mate
two tilt forty-five degrees; let the powder settle
three pour cool water at the base — a slow wake
four wedge the metal straw into the wet side
five pour 70–80°C water down the straw
six sip until the sound is hollow; refill; pass left
pouring water at 70 to 80 degrees celsius into a yerba mate gourd
// 70–80°C · slow pour · wet the wedge
70–80°C
// never boiling. ever. seriously.
06 — faq

answers

Do I need ssh to buy?
Yes — the shop only lives over ssh. Run ssh mate-terminal.shop and the catalog opens in your terminal.
Do I need an account?
No. Any ssh key works as your identity, and you can browse anonymously. Connect with a key when you want a cart and order history that stick around.
How do I navigate?
It's a TUI. 1·2·3·4 switch tabs (products / cart / payment / account), j/k move the cursor, + and − add or remove from the cart, q quits.
Where is the mate from?
Family farms in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and southern Brazil. The bag tells you which.
Where do you ship?
Austria only for now. The plan is to widen the map once the first runs are smooth.
Is my card safe?
Payment goes through Stripe — you finish checkout in a browser via a one-time link the TUI hands you. We never see the card.
07 — harvest notes

letters from the farms

milling dates, new origins, the occasional brewing tangent. no upsells.
